Meet Dr. Pavlick

Matthew D. Pavlick, DDS, MD

Dr. Matthew D. Pavlick grew up in Northeast Ohio. He attended the University of Cincinnati where he majored in Biochemistry. He was awarded with The Lubrizol Scholarship for outstanding achievement in organic chemistry. He then attended The Ohio State University College of Dentistry from 2001-2005. He graduated Magna Cum Laude in 2005. While at OSU, he received the dental student oral surgery award from the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons as well as awards for patient management and humanistic qualities. He was a member of the Phi Kappa Phi National Dental Honor Society. 

He began his residency in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery in 2005 at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center. He completed his medical degree from the University of Pittsburgh in 2009. He was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha National Medical Honor Society. He was also inducted into the Watson Humanism Medical Honor Society. He completed an internship in general surgery in 2010. He trained at UPMC Presbyterian Hopsital, Montefiore Hospital, Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh, Jefferson Regional Medical Center, Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Oakland, and Mercy Medical Center. While in residency, he was involved in several research projects in regenerative medicine and presented his research at several renowned academic conferences. 

Dr. Pavlick returned to Northeast Ohio upon completion of his residency in July 2011. He provides care in all aspects of Oral and Maxillofacial surgery with advanced experience in wisdom tooth removal, comprehensive reconstruction and bone grafting, dental implants and corrective jaw surgery. He is also on staff at multiple area hospitals and is an active member of multiple facial trauma teams. He is a member of the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, American Dental Association, American Medical Association, American College of Surgeons, Ohio Dental Association, and Akron Dental Society. He is certified in BLS, ACLS, PALS, and ATLS.

Personal interests include spending time with his wife, Kate, and two sons, Jack and Sam. He enjoys following local sports teams, golfing, and skiing. He is proud to be providing surgical care for the community in which he grew up in.
